Made with naturally sweet dried fruits, cozy spices, and a gluten-free flour blend, they’re a delicious option for anyone who loves a healthier dessert.

Moist, flavorful, and easy to make, these bars are ideal for holiday gatherings or as a snack with a cup of tea by the fire. Your guests will love them—and you just might want to keep a few for yourself!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pitted dates, cut up a bit
  • 1 cup prunes
  • ½ cup raisins
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup gluten-free flour blend. I like Pamela’s
  • 1 ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ½ cup chopped nuts

Directions

  1. Boil dates, prunes, and raisins in water for about 5 minutes or until soft
  2. Add butter and cool
  3. Beat in eggs
  4. Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and nuts and add to above mixture
  5. Mix together until all ingredients are well incorporated
  6. Bake at 325 degrees in a greased 9X13 pan for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean
